ANNOUNCING NEW DOORBELL CAMERA COMMUNITY INITIATIVE

Residents can now put their name in the drawing for a chance to acquire a free doorbell camera by filling out a form on our Surveillance Camera Mapping Program (SCMP) page on our website. NOTE: If you have already contacted the PPD and provided your contact information to enter the Camera Lottery then you DO NOT have to fill out the Lottery form online.

PORTSMOUTH, VA — The Portsmouth Police Department is happy to announce the start of our Doorbell Camera Community Initiative. We will begin passing out cameras on August 4, 2022, during our ROC The Block Community Walk in Prentis Park, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. We will distribute a limited number of camera systems during this event and more in the days and weeks following.

Citizens of Portsmouth who would like to sign up for a free Camera System and a one-year subscription are asked to contact the PPD Community Enhancement Division. Your name will be placed in a lottery and participants will be selected on a first come-first serve basis, unless you are identified as having special circumstances.
