DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE HOMICIDE ON BERKLEY AVENUE

PORTSMOUTH, VA — Detectives have located the suspect vehicle, a Nissan Altima. It is currently being recovered near the 1500 block of Columbus Avenue. This is an ongoing investigation, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.

PORTSMOUTH, VA — On October 1, 2021, at approximately 2:31 p.m., officers responded to the 2900 block of Berkley Avenue for a gunshot wound incident. A 14-year-old male was located with a critical gunshot wound. First responders began life-saving measures, and the juvenile was transported to a local hospital where his injuries proved fatal. Next of kin has been notified.
Detectives obtained photos of a possible suspect vehicle. It appears to be a 2019 or newer Nissan Altima with unknown registration. There may have been at least three occupants inside the vehicle at the time of this crime.
This is an active homicide investigation.
