POLICE INVESTIGATE HOMICIDE ON PORTSMOUTH BOULEVARD
PORTSMOUTH, VA — On January 11, 2023, officers responded to the 4000 block of Portsmouth Boulevard for a reported of a possible overdose victim. Upon arrival, officers located 40-year-old Jimmy Hernandez, who was unconscious. Life saving measures were taken, but Hernandez died as a result of the narcotics he consumed. His next of kin was notified. After a thorough investigation, detectives arrested and charged 29-year-old Chardae Alston with felony homicide and petit larceny.
