PORTSMOUTH POLICE INVESTIGATE CARJACKINGS

PORTSMOUTH, VA — Detectives have arrested two suspects and are searching for two others. All four suspects have been identified and charged in connection to all three carjackings.
19-year-old Xavier J. Woodhouse is charged with three counts of Carjacking, two counts of Conspiracy, and three counts of Use of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He has been arrested.
18-year-old Takki R. Joyner is charged with two counts of Carjacking, two counts of Conspiracy, and two counts of Use of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He has been arrested.
20-year-old Teon L. Wiggins is currently wanted for two counts of Carjacking, two counts of Conspiracy, and two counts of Use of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
18-year-old Ijai Sherrill is currently wanted for two counts of Carjacking, two counts of Conspiracy, and two counts of Use of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

PORTSMOUTH, VA — Detectives are investigating three separate carjacking incidents. Two appear to be related. All three victims are ride service and food delivery drivers.
On January 30, 2022, around 12:06 a.m., officers were flagged down by an adult male who stated he had been carjacked. The victim stated four occupants were in his vehicle when one of them brandished a firearm and stole the victim’s vehicle near the intersection of High Street and Godwin Street. No injuries were reported, and this vehicle has been recovered.
On January 30, 2022, around 4:55 a.m. officers were flagged down by a second adult male who stated he had just been carjacked. The victim said he was picking up two males from the 900 block of Naval Avenue when they brandished a firearm, robbed him, and stole his vehicle. The stolen vehicle is a burgundy 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV with LYFT stickers on the back window. No injuries were reported, and this vehicle has been recovered.
On January 30, 2022, around 1:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery to an individual, near the 2500 block of Peach Street. An adult female stated that two males approached her with a firearm and stole her vehicle, while she was making a food delivery. No injuries were reported. The stolen vehicle is a 2018 black four-door Nissan Versa. One suspect is described as wearing a black bubble coat, black pants, white shoes, a pink mask and gloves. The second suspect is described as a male wearing a black bubble coat, black pants, black shoes, and a black mask.
We urge delivery and rideshare drivers who frequent the area to take extra precautions. We suggest that they be mindful of their surroundings and to park in well-lit areas with witnesses present if possible.
