PORTSMOUTH POLICE INVESTIGATE HOMICIDE ON VIRGINIA AVENUE
UPDATE: 7/27/2022
Investigators have charged 21 — year-old Jashaun Lee Richardson with the murder of Shakera Hines, a mother of three. Richardson was charged with First Degree Murder, Use of Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Shooting in the Commission of a Felony.
Richardson was arrested this morning and is currently in the custody of the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office on unrelated charges. He is currently being held without bond.

Detectives are searching for 24-year-old Ahmon B. Wilson-Daniels of Chesapeake. Daniels is considered a Person of Interest in the Shakera Hines homicide investigation.
(Ahmon B. Wilson-Daniels was located on 5/2/2022 and he is no longer considered a Person of Interest at this time.)

PORTSMOUTH, VA — Detectives were searching for 42-year-old Robert A. Hollowell. He was considered a person of interest in the Shakera L. Hines homicide investigation. He was located on the same day of this Update and he is no longer needed for questioning.

PORTSMOUTH, VA — The unknown suspect was observed on CCTV footage walking southbound on Virginia Avenue, near the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Portland Street. Video captured the suspect in the area just prior to the reported incident. Detectives have also acquired closer photos of the suspect. We urge anyone with additional camera footage or information about this suspect to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 757–393–8536. PORTSMOUTH, VA — On January 14, 2022, around 1:34 p.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Virginia Avenue for a reported Gunshot Wound Incident. Upon arrival officers located 26-year-old Shakera Lanae Hines with a fatal gunshot wound. Next of Kin has been notified.
Investigators have acquired surveillance images of an unknown suspect, who appears to be an adult black male wearing all black, a black face mask, and a cross-body bag with green lettering.
