Detectives are attempting to identify an unknown suspect, seen driving the stolen 2015 silver Jeep Cherokee. He is described as an adult male wearing black pants with white writing on the sides, a black “The North Face” Hoodie, and a white beany.

Investigators have acquired surveillance images of a stolen 2015 Silver Jeep Cherokee and a suspect vehicle described as a Dark Grey Dodge Challenger.

UPDATE: 12/30/2022

On December 5, 2022, officers responded to Bay Area Movers Inc., located on Victory Court, for a report of a stolen vehicle. Detectives believe the Motor Vehicle Theft could be connected to the 600 Washington Homicide. Investigators are now searching for a Vehicle of Interest connected to the theft. It appears to be a white Ford Transit Connect van with a missing back passenger hubcap. Investigators believe the white van may be associated with a locksmithing company. PORTSMOUTH, VA — On December 27, 2022, at approximately 12:59 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Washington Street for a report of gunshots fired. Upon arrival officers located 20-year-old Jamir Barnes with fatal injuries. His next of kin has been notified.
