PORTSMOUTH POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING ON PORTSMOUTH BLVD, SUSPECT ARRESTED

PORTSMOUTH, VA — On March 18, 2022, at approximately 8:38 p.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Portsmouth Boulevard for a reported gunshot wound incident. Officers located a 33-year-old male with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. A suspect was identified and located at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound that he sustained during the incident. 34-year-old Eddie F. Hunter Jr. was charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by Violent Felon.

Hunter was also wanted for a stabbing that occurred on March 5, 2022, near the 100 block of Dale Drive. He was previously charged with Shoot, Cut, or Stab in Commission of a Felony, and Aggravated Malicious Wounding.
