PORTSMOUTH, VA — On December 22, 2022, around 10:34 a.m. officers responded to a violent domestic incident involving the stabbing of a 65-year-old female, near the 500 block of Mt. Vernon Ave. While on scene, an officer-involved shooting occurred, and a 45-year-old male suspect was fatally wounded. The female victim’s injuries are life threatening and she is currently at an area hospital receiving treatment. The Virginia State Police are investigating the Officer-Involved shooting, while the PPD will continue to investigate the stabbing.
