PORTSMOUTH POLICE SEARCH FOR HOME INVASION SUSPECTS

25-year-old Mitchell Boney Jr. has turned himself in and is currently being held at the Portsmouth City Jail. He is charged with Armed Burglary, Use of a Firearm, Abduction, and Conspiracy to Commit a Burglary.

Investigators have identified the two suspects as 25-year-old Mitchell Boney Jr. and 22-year-old Tyree Demont Boney Jr. Both are wanted for Armed Burglary, Use of a Firearm, Abduction, and Conspiracy to Commit a Burglary. Mitchell Boney Jr. is known to drive an orange 2017 Dodge Charger with VA Tags UBS7788.

ORIGINAL RELEASE:
PORTSMOUTH, VA — On September 14, 2022, at approximately 1:50 p.m. two unknown male suspects entered a residence near the 2600 block of Turnpike Road. Both suspects were armed and ordered the two elderly residents to get inside of a linen closet at gunpoint. The suspects then proceeded to steal a safe and a wallet. No injuries were reported.
The two suspects were described as follows:
Suspect 1: 6’2”-6’3”, 170–180 pounds, Gray hooded sweatshirt, Blue stone washed jeans, Black shoes, Black mask
Suspect 2: 5’6”-5’8”, 150–160 pounds, Black hooded sweatshirt, Navy Blue/ Black sweatpants, one red sock on right foot, White shoes, Black mask.
