PORTSMOUTH, VA — Investigators have apprehended 19-year-old Melvon D. Parker. He is charged with First Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Firearm on School Property.

PORTSMOUTH, VA — At this time, the juvenile charged with First-Degree Murder in the Cherokee Road Homicide is in police custody. The juvenile is also charged with Use of a Firearm, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Firearm on School Property.

Detectives are still searching for the third suspect, 19-year-old Melvon D. Parker. We urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Criminal Investigative Division at 757–393–8536. PORTSMOUTH, VA — On January 20, 2022 around 5 a.m., 18-year-old Kwendale Glenn was taken into custody. He is charged with First Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Firearm on School Property.

ORIGINAL RELEASE

PORTSMOUTH, VA — On January 19, 2022, around 3:01 p.m., a report was made for a walk-in gunshot wound at a local hospital. The victim was a juvenile male with a life-threatening injury. Officers responded and located a crime scene near the 1000 block of Cherokee Road. The victim’s wounds proved fatal and next of kin was notified.

Investigators have identified three suspects:

  • 19-year-old Melvon D. Parker, charged with First Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Firearm on School Property.
  • 18-year-old Kwendale Glenn, charged with First Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Firearm on School Property.
  • The third suspect is a juvenile male who faces the same charges.
