PORTSMOUTH POLICE SEARCH FOR ROBBERY SUSPECT

Detectives have arrested 62-year-old James Alfonso Henry Jr., he is charged with three counts of Robbery, three counts of Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, three counts of Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, three counts of Wearing a Mask in Public, and one count Possession of Cocaine.

ORIGINAL RELEASE:

PORTSMOUTH, VA — Investigators are searching for a male suspect who robbed three businesses. The suspect appears to be a 50 to 60 year-old man, approximately 5'10–6'0", and 150–170 lbs.

On July 22, 2023, around 4:16 a.m., a male suspect entered the 7-Eleven located at 725 London Street and robbed the location with a rusty revolver. He was seen wearing a white bucket hat, a black T-shirt with blue sleeves, dark blue jean shorts, black tennis shoes, and a black face mask.

Later that day at approximately 3:10 p.m. the suspect entered the Smoke Shack business located at 627 High Street and robbed it with a silver revolver. The suspect was seen wearing dark sunglasses, an orange facemask, a yellow T-shirt, a black vest with hood attached, dark blue jean shorts, bright yellow socks, and red/burgundy Puma shoes with white accents.

Then on July 24, 2023, at approximately 4:15 p.m. the suspect entered the Jimmy Johns at 341 High Street and robbed the business with a rusty revolver. The suspect was seen wearing a white bucket hat, a white T-shirt and orange pants, dark sunglasses, and an orange facemask.
