PUBLIC NOTICE: FAKE CITY EMPLOYEE SCAM

This is a public notice to all citizens of Portsmouth warning of fraudulent activity. Please be aware that people are impersonating City Employees, visiting residents, and asking for personal information and money. All City Employees wear a badge and never ask for personal information or money, such as bills, when they visit your residence.

Please be cautious and contact the Portsmouth Police Department if you experience a non-badged employee asking for personal information or money.

You can also reach the Crime Line at **TIPS (**8477). Callers can also submit an anonymous tip through the Crime Line’s “P3 Tips” app or visit their website at www.portscrimeline.com.
